Communication Primer

A Visual Representation of Human Decisions Through Evolving 'YES, NO' Shapes and Interconnected Dots

This is a motion graphic produced after viewing "A Communications Primer," by Charles & Ray Eames (1953), as part of a work in the Department of Visual Design at Kookmin University.

Human movements seem to continue, but they are in fact the product of numerous 'YES, NO' decisions. The video begins with the appearance of numerous choices in human life spreading out on the screen in the form of black dots. Starting with a single dot, points here and there are affected by the surroundings and turn white. These small crystals come together to form the form of a huge letter 'YES, NO'. In addition, this shape extends toward the surroundings to become a line, and when these lines intersect, numerous selection elements in the form of white dots unfold again.
