the Markee
1:1 Custom Fashion Brand - Fashion for Skin Marked People
People live with countless different forms of marks on their skin, such as scars, spots, and hemangiomas. <the Markee> is a brand that produces clothing with the marks that each person has. It explores and visualizes the various skin types hidden in a society that envies only clean skin. This project was carried out in collaboration with designer Yeji Lee, who shares similar skin concerns with me.
To proceed the project, we collected and interviewed eight participants with noticeable shapes on their skin. Following the insights from interview, we made 2 styles of graphic. 'Destroyed Style' is for making patterns for skin marks, and 'Bar-code Style' is for expressing every individual's unique story.
